India-administered Kashmir: An Indian policeman was killed when unknown militants attacked a police station with grenades and heavy gunfire in Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir.

The militants had surrounded the police station before attacking it with heavy weapons and grenades. Militants succeeded in fleeing the spot but not before stealing weapons and ammo from the police station.

Indian police in J&K says they are searching for the culprits. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but police in J&K has been increasingly facing attacks from multiple militant groups such as Hizbul Mujahideen, Islamic State (ISJK), etc.

Official Twitter account of J&K police tweeted a video from the funeral of the slain policeman.
