Pakistan: A head constable was killed and another policeman was wounded in an attack in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Unidentified motorcyclists targeted two policemen during routine checking on Saidpur road.

Head constable Arif and constable Wajid were taken to Rawalpindi’s Holy Family hospital where Arif breathed his last.

A heavy contingent of police reached the spot and the investigation is underway.

In a statement released on Monday, terrorist group Hizbul Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack. The statement boasted that Hizbul Ahrar’s Operation Bin Qasim has reached Rawalpindi, following attacks in Karachi, Lahore, KP Province and Balochistan.
