Afghanistan: An IED blast targeting the vehicle of district chief of Afghan intelligence service the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Nadi Ali of Helmand province on Tuesday resulted in his death. The blast occurred when Mir Ahmad Quraishi was traveling by car in Loy Manda area of the district along with his bodyguards and other NDS officials.

Afghan Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast.
