Hizbul Ahrar claims targeting two Pakistani soldiers in sniper fire in Chitral

North Waziristan: Five soldiers belonging to the Pakistani military were injured in an IED blast in Spin Wam area of North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday.

Local sources said the blast took place directly outside a security check-post located near the Pak-Afghan border. The injured soldiers were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were identified as Havaldars Ameerul Hasan and Ameer Ahmed, Lance Naik Mukamal Shah, and Sepoys Waheedullah and Sheraz.

Afghanistan-based Jihadist group Hizbul Ahrar claimed responsibility for the blast in a statement by its spokesman Dr. Aziz Yousafzai. The statement was released on all official networks of Al-Ahrar Media of Hizbul Ahrar.

UPDATE: On Sunday 23rd September, Hafiz Gul Bahadar group, which is a faction of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the mine blast in Spin Wam, North Waziristan on Thursday.
