Pakistan: On Thursday an IED blast in South Waziristan’s Ladha area targeted a vehicle of Pakistan Army, which resulted in the deaths of three soldiers while four others were injured.

The blast was claimed by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Noor Wali Mehsud group in the wee hours on Friday.

According to Head of South Asia Desk at ITCT Faran Jeffery, “what’s a little surprising about this attack is that the TTP statement of claim includes names of the Pakistani soldiers who were killed and wounded in the attack. This shows that despite Pakistan’s countless operations against TTP, their network in Pakistan is still very strong.”

According to TTP statement, three soldiers were killed and three injured. But ITCT sources confirm that three soldiers were killed and at least four injured.
