Czech Republic: On Friday, Czech justice announced the temporary detention of former Prague imam Samer Shehadeh, charged with supporting terrorism.
Former Prague imam Samer Shehadeh, charged in particular for supporting terrorism, has been detained on remand, local justice said Friday.

Palestinian-born but born in Prague, Samer Shehadeh found himself in the sights of the Czech police a few years ago, following signs of his radicalization.
According to the press, he urged members of the Muslim community in the Czech Republic not to take part in a demonstration against terrorism in Prague, alongside Christians.
Samer Shehadeh had left his post of imam in 2014, and the Czech Republic in 2016 with his brother and sister-in-law. According to the press, he helped them participate in the fighting in Syria, and received a terrorist training.
He was recently arrested in Jordan and brought back Thursday in the Czech Republic, according to Czech media reports.
He faces up to 15 years in prison, according to the prosecution.
The Muslim community in the Czech Republic has 10,000 to 20,000 members, of whom only 3,000 are practicing, for a total population of 10.6 million.
