India-administered Kashmir: On Friday, Indian media reported that the dead bodies of three policemen, who were kidnapped earlier from Shopian area, have been found. Asian News International (ANI) also released photos of the dead bodies.

A graphic video of the dead bodies of three slain policemen is also doing the rounds on social media.

The news that the three kidnapped policemen have been killed has reportedly triggered a series of mass resignations from the Indian police deployed in India-administered Kashmir, a territory which is also claimed by Pakistan. Indian government is rejecting the reports of mass resignations as “propaganda”.

India-administered Kashmir, a disputed territory, has seen rising violence in recent months, where clashes between civilians armed with sticks and stones and the heavily armed Indian forces are now routine. Indian forces have been accused of using heavy handed tactics in attempts to crush the indigenous rebellion in the Kashmir Valley, only to have failed spectacularly. Recently photos surfaced on the internet showing Indian soldiers dragging the dead body of a slain militant in the streets and later taking selfies with it.

The tension in India-administered Kashmir has also reached mainland India, where Indian security agencies recently arrested two Islamic State (ISJK) operatives in New Delhi who were planning to launch attacks in India-administered Kashmir.
