Islamabad: While on a visit in Pakistan, Britain’s home secretary Sajid Javid, a son of Pakistani immigrants, said that the eradication of terrorism is a priority for both countries and announced a new partnership that would strive for “justice and accountability” for both countries. Javid met Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and other Pakistani officials on Monday in Islamabad.

Javid told reporters that “no one can escape justice or act with impunity” and urged for a “more concerted action” to combat terror groups. After meeting the Pakistani law minister Farogh Nasim, Javid said that they discussed security issues and mechanisms for bilateral prisoner transfers, as well as money laundering, trade and education.

The British High Commissioner in Pakistan Tom Drew also tweeted a photo of himself and Sajid Javid meeting with the new PM Imran Khan.
